ABOUT
My journey to CALYPSO began 25 years ago within the walls of the iconic BARNEYS NEW YORK buying offices. It was there that I developed my appreciation for the nuance of color & texture, and how they informed the story we were trying to tell. The pressure to pick the perfect shade of pink, or just the right fabric “hand”, was enormous as so much depended on it.
After NYC, I migrated to Hollywood to work with fashion personalities Christos Garkinos & Cameron Silver (“Dukes of Melrose”) at their Melrose Avenue luxury shopping destination DECADES, where I learned to cultivate a clients’ personal story through the intentional use of fashion and style. I also had the privilege of working alongside Nadine Macaluso (“Duchess of Bay Ridge) managing sample development and workroom production at her LA-based clothing manufacturing company. This is where my savvy attention to detail and seamstress workmanship was really put to the test!
All too often, I walk into beautifully designed homes to find window treatments are an afterthought. I began CALYPSO as a way to use my unique experience and refined sense of color, texture and style to help clients realize their vision for their home. I believe that the amount of light you let into your room is an essential part of the design process and choosing the right window treatments is key - without a thoughtful consideration of light, a home isn’t quite finished.
